{"id":20,"date":"2014-05-05T07:09:17","date_gmt":"2014-05-04T23:09:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/israelbarrientos.org\/wordpress\/?page_id=20"},"modified":"2021-10-15T21:43:46","modified_gmt":"2021-10-15T13:43:46","slug":"personal","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.israelbarrientos.org\/wordpress\/main-page\/personal","title":{"rendered":"Personal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Over the years I have had some interest on very varied topics.<\/p>\n<p>Amongst them (and in no particular order):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Linux and Open Source projects.<\/li>\n<li>Flight simulation.<\/li>\n<li>Stewart-Gough platforms or hexapods.<\/li>\n<li>Miniature helicopter control theory (Bell-Hiller mixing).<\/li>\n<li>Lathe machining and metalworking.<\/li>\n<li>Book scanning, page uncurling, 3D-sensing of book depth, and OpenCV.<\/li>\n<li>Microcontrollers, Atmel AVR, Mbed LPC, and Xilinx FPGA&#8217;s.<\/li>\n<li>Sous-vide cooking.<\/li>\n<li>Solanaceae planting (tomatillo, chile, chilli, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Hydroponics.<\/li>\n<li>3D Printing.<\/li>\n<li>Hobby Electronics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On a more personal note, I am a Seventh Day Adventist.<\/p>\n<p>I currently attend the Cumbres Church, in Monterrey, M\u00e9xico.<br \/>\nBut previously I have attended Clarkson, Landsdale, and Carmel Churches in Perth, WA.<\/p>\n<p>I try to give back to my community and support the younger ones by helping run a youth adventure club\u00a0 called AY Pathfinders.\u00a0 Where 10 to 15 year olds gather to learn about camping and fittnes skills, and also provides for their intellectual and spiritual needs.<\/p>\n<p>This has seen me camp out at least 3 times per year during the past 15 years, lots of 1- or 2-day hikes and multiple Pathfinder meetings and Master Guide events.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Over the years I have had some interest on very varied topics.
